These are intended for pre-university children and students and those who have completed dance course and need practice and advanced training. These evening courses are of the duration of seven years.
Certificates awarded are :
 
1) “Prarambhika” after four years
2) “Kovida” after seven years.

Practicals : Actual attendance at Nalanda

Theory : By Correspondance
i)

Indian Culture

Epics – Ramayana, Mahabharata and Shilappadikaram

iii)

Fundamentals of Indian Dance and the contemporary classical dance styles.

Scientific Technique of Indian Dance.

v)

Natyashastra of Bharta Muni.

vi)

Rasasootra – the theory and applicability of Rasa (Aesthetics)

vii)

Religio – Philosophical basis of dance.

viii)

Indian classical music and its applicability to dance.

 
Eligibility  :

i)

Minimum XIIth H.S.C. or equivalent examination of any board

 

 OR

ii)

Completed 21 years. (Xerox copies of passing certificates and/ or birth certificate essencial). and training up to Jatisvaram (Enclosed Certificate from Teacher).

   
PARANGATA (Refresher) Diploma in Bharata Natyam
 

Duration : 2 Years

  Course Content : Practicals and Theory
  Practicals : Actual attendance at Nalanda in the second year.

Teaching Methodology

Adavus in three speeds

iii)

Definition of hastas padabhedas, griva bhedas and drishtibhedas from the Abhinayadarpanam with performance.

iv)

35 talas and basic recitation with the fingering technique.

   

Theory : By Correspondance

Student are required to submit DVD or VCD of their dance as proof.

 

Intensive Practical Training : At the end of the second year for two months before examinations at Nalanda.

   

Note : The fees paid cover only training. The candidates have to make own arrangements for their stay & travel.

   

DIPLOMA IN NRITYASHASTRA (Dance Theory For All Styles)

By CORRESPONDENCE Only

Duration : 2 Years
